Effluent Treatment Plant

The Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) serves as a specialized method for treating industrial wastewater to facilitate its safe reuse and prevent environmental harm. Its primary objective is to mitigate the adverse effects caused by effluents by purifying them before release into the environment.

Industrial wastewater varies widely in composition depending on the industry. It may contain oils, grease, toxic substances like cyanide, or degradable organic pollutants found in effluents from food and beverage factories. Given this diversity of impurities, tailored treatment technologies such as ETP become essential.

The ETP operates through a series of stages employing physical, chemical, biological, and membrane processes. These stages are designed to effectively treat wastewater from various industrial sectors such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, refineries, dairy, ready-mix plants, and textiles. Each sector may require specific treatment methodologies to address its unique effluent composition and environmental impact.

  1. Benefits of ETP:
    • To clean industry effluent and recycle it for further use
    • To reduce the usage of fresh water in industries
    • To preserve the natural environment against pollution
    • To meet the standards for emission of pollutants set by the Government & avoid heavy penalty
    • To reduce expenditure on water acquisition
